Job summary

HUB International in Nanaimo is seeking a Personal Insurance Associate to help clients protect assets through habitational, travel, and auto coverage. You will deliver outstanding service, educate clients on products, and support sales initiatives in a dynamic team.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, high-volume efficiency, and continuous learning to stay current with Personal Lines offerings and licensing opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Personal Insurance experience.
• Level 2 General Insurance License is an asset but not required.
• Strong client service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced team environment.
• Attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Industry designations (CIP, CAIB, CRM) or General Insurance & Risk Management Diploma are assets.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to understand insurance needs and recommend Personal Insurance coverage (habitational, travel, auto).
• Follow up on sales leads and referrals.
• Process renewals and issue policies accurately and timely.
• Achieve sales and retention goals.
• Maintain knowledge of Personal Lines and Auto products through ongoing education.

As a Personal Insurance Associate, you will help protect individuals most valuable assets. In this role, you will provide outstanding client service through your positive, friendly manner while educating clients in your excellent product knowledge in habitational, travel, and automobile insurance.

A day in the life –

• Engage with clients to understand and advise on their insurance needs to help develop the best coverage needed in all things Personal Insurance (habitational, travel, automobile)
• Follow-up regularly on sales leads and referral prospects
• Process and conduct renewals and ensure policies are processed and issued accurately in a timely manner
• Achieve sales and retention goals and targets
• Maintaining a high level of knowledge in all our Personal Lines and Auto products through continuous education and learning opportunities

What you will bring to the team –

• Minimum 1-year Personal Insurance experience
• Level 2 General Insurance License is an asset, but not required
• Desire and proactive ability to deliver exceptional client service
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced team environment
• Keen eye for detail and high sense of urgency
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales initiatives
• Industry designation would be considered an asset (CIP, CAIB, CRM, General Insurance & Risk Management Diploma)

Salary Expectations –

The expected salary for this position is $45,000 to $55,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
