Giant Tiger in Johnstown, Ontario is hiring a Cleaner for a 3-month temporary role with Sunday-Thursday nights (10:00pm–6:30am) at the Johnstown Distribution Centre. Internal candidates invited to apply; successful candidate becomes permanent if internal.

You will clean warehouses, maintain sanitation, and prepare records while supporting a safe working environment under OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of the org.
• Self-motivated with ability to work without supervision and stand/walk/lift for long periods.
• Experience with power scrubbers and sweepers is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean with brooms, power scrubbers, sweepers and vacuums to meet standards.
• Remove refuse and maintain clean trash and recycling areas daily.
• Clean warehouse floors and work areas.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
• Ensure sanitation and housekeeping at high level.
• Prepare accurate records and reports as required.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Ensure safe areas around material handling equipment.
• Operate in line with OSHA and company policies.

About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements:

This is a 3 month temporary role with a schedule of Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm-6:30am at our Johnstown Distribution Centre.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Clean with hand brooms, power scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuum cleaners to meet company standards.
• Remove all refuse from garbage bins, recycle bins and building daily, ensuring that trash cans is empty and clean.
• Clean work areas within warehouse floor.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks as directed effectively and safely.
• Ensure that the highest degree of sanitation and housekeeping is maintained.
• Prepare complete and accurate records and reports as required.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Ensures an efficient, clean, and safe area of all material handling equipment areas
• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety in accordance with OSHA, applicable legislation, and company policies & procedures

What You’ll Bring:

• Completion of High School or equivalent;
• Experience working in a warehouse environment, maintenance experience an asset;
• Excellent communication skills to be able to interact with all levels of the organization;
• Self-motivated; ability to work without direct supervision and standing/walking/lifting for extended periods.
• Experience operating power scrubbers and sweepers, power pallet truck, compactor or bailers an asset.
• Successful candidates must be in good standing for both performance and health & safety.
