Job summary

Giant Tiger Wholesale is hiring a permanent Warehouse Container Associate for our Johnstown distribution centre. The role involves unloading containers, sorting by item number, and securing pallets for efficient distribution.

You will work Sunday to Tuesday, 10:00am–6:30pm, at a busy, climate-controlled facility. We offer competitive pay at $20.48/hour with premium for overnight shifts in cold storage, plus a team-focused culture, health benefits after 3 months, and numerous growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Operate in compliance with Ontario OSHA/WHMIS standards.
• Capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 lb.
• Comfortable in a noisy, fast-paced environment and in hot or cold conditions.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and a reliable team player.
• Maintain professional appearance and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Unload containers and arrange cases per layer on pallets.
• Lift boxes 1–50 pounds repeatedly during shift.
• Sort boxes by item number and interlock cases on pallets.
• Secure pallets with tape or shrink wrap and report variances.
• Perform various warehouse duties as directed by the supervisor.

About This Role:

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a permanent Warehouse Container Associate for our 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, Ontario!

What You’ll Do:

• Unload containers to the specified configuration of cases per layer on the pallet as per the purchase order
• Lift boxes with a weight range of 1-50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift
• Segregate boxes by item number
• Interlock cases on pallets and secure with tape or shrink wrap
• Identify and report any quantity variances and any damages to the Receiver associate
• Various warehouse duties, as directed by the supervisor

What You’ll Bring:

• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and complies with Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards
• Capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs and repetitively lifting heavy objects throughout shift
• Comfortable in a noisy, fast-paced environment and in hot or cold weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and a team player
• Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and follow directions

Assets You May Have:

• Experience in receiving
• Experience in a warehouse environment
• Class G2 or higher driver’s license

Hourly Rate

$20.48
