Job summary

Giant Tiger is hiring a Cleaner for our Johnstown Distribution Centre. This 3‑month temporary role runs Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm–6:30am, at the Johnstown facility, with internal applicants considered for permanent status.

You will clean warehouses, operate cleaning equipment, manage waste and maintain records while adhering to safety standards and company policies. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School or equivalent.
• Experience in a warehouse environment; maintenance experience an asset.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated; ability to work without direct supervision and standing/walking/lifting for extended periods.
• Experience operating power scrubbers and sweepers, power pallet truck, compactor or bailers is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean with hand brooms, power scrubbers, sweepers and vacuum cleaners to meet company standards.
• Remove all refuse from garbage bins and recycling bins daily, ensuring bins are empty and clean.
• Clean work areas within warehouse floor.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks as directed effectively and safely.
• Ensure the highest degree of sanitation and housekeeping is maintained.
• Prepare complete and accurate records and reports as required.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Ensure an efficient, clean and safe area of all material handling equipment areas.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety in accordance with OSHA, applicable legislation, and company policies & procedures.

About This Role:
