Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is seeking a customer-oriented driver to deliver and return a diverse fleet of construction equipment to customer sites in London, Ontario. You will load, secure, inspect, and document each item, maintain accurate delivery records, and communicate with dispatch about scheduling.

The role requires a Class G license, outdoor work, and a strong safety mindset. We offer competitive pay ($21.00 - $23.00 per hour) with overtime, a comprehensive benefits package,

Qualifications

• Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory abstract upon request.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment or heavy loads.
• Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather/road conditions.
• Able to lift approximately 50 lbs and maintain fitness for physical work.
• Highly safety-focused and professional with vehicle responsibility.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to/from customer jobsites.
• Load/unload equipment and secure it per safety procedures; maintain records.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and check fluid levels.
• Obtain customer signatures on contracts and report delivery issues to dispatch.
• Identify new sales opportunities and potential job sites for management.
• Verify delivered items match orders and inform customers if discrepancies occur.
• Assist dispatch to manage schedule delays and communicate with customers.
• Document missing/broken equipment and obtain customer signatures on forms.
• Tag and move broken equipment to repair area; provide basic safety instruction as needed.
• Keep vehicle clean and professional at all times; complete logs.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites. Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary. Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records. Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels. Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed. Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups. Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites. Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered. Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified. If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets. Tag and move broken equipment to repair area. Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary. Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times. Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets.

What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Class G drivers license with a clean or satisfactory drivers abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated drivers abstract upon request.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment, or other types of heavy loads is an asset.
• Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers is an asset (for example Class G/5 Roll-Off trucks, flat decks, or heavy-duty pick-up trucks).
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required.
• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
