Cooper Equipment Rentals in Richmond, BC is seeking a dedicated Class 5 Driver for full-time work. You will deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to customer sites, perform daily inspections, and maintain accurate delivery records.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience operating, loading, securing, and transporting construction equipment or other heavy loads is an asset.
• Previous commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather and road conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of equipment to customer sites.
• Load and unload equipment and secure loads per safety procedures.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and check fluids.
• Obtain customer signatures on contracts and communicate delivery status.
• Inform supervisor of delivery or pickup difficulties and update dispatch.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and professional appearance.

Perks!*** Competitive salary, with overtime available* Excellent benefit package with premiums paid by the company* Uniform, safety boots/shoes, safety gear provided* Safety-minded organization* Continuous training, learning and development opportunities* Fun-loving work environment with strong social responsibility **What You’ll Be Doing** *Duties and Responsibilities:* * Deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites.* Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.* Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.* Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.* Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.* Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.* Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.* Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.* Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified* If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets. Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.* Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.* Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.* Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets. **What You’ll Bring to the Team** *Qualifications and Requirements*: * Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points).You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.* Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment, or other types of heavy loads is an asset.* Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.* Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers is an asset (for example Class G/5 Roll-Off trucks, flat decks, or heavy-duty pick-up trucks).* Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.* Comfortable with city driving.* Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
