Job summary

Canada Cartage Systems in Saskatoon is offering a Full Time Permanent driving position. The successful candidate will operate a vehicle safely and manage cargo documentation while ensuring a timely and professional delivery.

Qualified applicants must possess a Valid Class 1/AZ License, a commercial driving abstract for the last 5 years, and should be capable of lifting cargo as needed. Flexible schedules are required, and candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1/AZ License is required.
• Provide a Commercial driving abstract from the last 5 years.
• At least 1 year of Class 1 driving experience.
• Must be capable of driving a manual transmission.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle safely and adhere to safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections before departure.
• Manage cargo documentation for delivery.
• Coordinate loading and unloading of the truck.
• Maintain contact with dispatcher during transport.

Job Duties

• Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to company safety regulations
• Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition
• Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods
• Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured
• Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport
• Ensure customer delivery is met in a timely, safe and professional manner

Skills and Requirements

• Possess a Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
• Provide 5 years Commercial driving abstract
• Minimum 1 year of class 1 driving experience
• Must be able to drive a manual transmission
• Must be willing to load/unload and be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be able to work flexible schedules
• Must be bondable and legally entitled to work in Canada
