Job summary

CEDA is hiring Class 1 or 3 Driver/Operators for its Pressure & Vacuum division at Fort McMurray, AB. This full-time role involves operating vacuum trucks and high-pressure equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Expect 7x7 and 14x14 shifts, potential overtime during turnaround seasons, competitive wages, and excellent benefits including matching pension contributions starting on day one. Northern Living Allowance of $750 is offered.

Qualifications

• Requires Class 1 or 3 license with minimal demerits.
• Experience driving vacuum trucks is a plus.
• Must be able to pass CEDA driver assessment and pre-employment drug test.
• 1+ years of operator experience in an industrial environment.
• CSO certification required; other safety certs are assets.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Vacuum trucks, high‑pressure water equipment, and specialty tools.
• Majority of work is outside the truck; boots on the ground.
• Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in labour-intensive conditions.
• Climb into vessels and tanks using industrial cleaning equipment with team support.
• Ensure safety for all team members and the property.

CEDA is currently seeking Class 1 or 3 Driver/Operators for our Pressure & Vacuum division at our Fort McMurray, AB location! Travelandaccommodationare not offered for this position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Work alongside Labourers operating and maintaining Vacuum trucks, High Pressure Water equipment and various specialty tools
• 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground!
• Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labour intensive capacity
• Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back
• Ensure safety for all team members and property
• Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
• Work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
• Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
• Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs
• Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1or Class 3license with no more than 5 demerits in last 3years is required
• Driving manual transmissions (10, 13 or 18 speed) is required, must be able to pass a CEDA’s driver assessment.
• Prior experience driving a Vacuum Truck is an asset.
• 1+ years of operator experience in an industrial environment
• CSO certification required
• Confined Space and Fall Protection certification an asset but not required, we will train you!
• Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and very good with a manual transmission
• You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
• Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
