Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals in West Kelowna, BC, is seeking a customer-oriented driver to deliver and collect a diverse fleet of construction equipment. This on-site role requires a Class 1 license, clean driving record, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

You will load and secure gear, perform pre- and post-inspections, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with dispatch and customers.

Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment.Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets.Check gas, oil and other fluid levels.Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records. If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature.Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.What You’ll Bring to the TeamQualifications and Requirements:Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract and commercial driving record (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is required.Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required.Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.#SJ1Want to learn more about career opportunities at Cooper Equipment Rentals?
