Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is seeking a customer‑oriented driver to deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment from West Kelowna, BC. You will ensure safe loading, securement, and in-transit inspection, while maintaining accurate logs and timely communication with dispatch.

The role requires a Class 1 license, ability to lift ~50 lbs, and comfort working outdoors year-round in varying weather. Overtime and on-call support are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a satisfactory abstract (no more than three demerit points).
• Comfortable outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather/road conditions.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Experience with heavy‑duty equipment on flat-bed trucks is required.
• Available for overtime and on-call rotation if required.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites.
• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment and inspect in transit.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections, logs, and timesheets.
• Check fluid levels and ensure client signature on contracts.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties and potential new sales opportunities.
• Maintain delivery records and ensure equipment returns in good condition.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites. Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment. Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary. Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets. Check gas, oil and other fluid levels. Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed. Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups. Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites. Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered. Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary. Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified. Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records. If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature. Tag and move broken equipment to repair area. Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.

What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements: Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract and commercial driving record (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request. Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions. Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs. Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver. Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is required. Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required. Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent problem-solving and organization skills. Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues. Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
