Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is hiring a delivery driver to transport a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer sites. You will load, secure, and inspect equipment, complete daily paperwork, and communicate with dispatch about timing and issues.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3/DZ driver's license with a clean or satisfactory abstract.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather/road conditions.
• Comfortable with manual transmission.
• Comfortable with city driving.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods; must lift ~50 lbs.
• Highly safety-focused and professional; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites; equipment includes aerial, earth moving and compaction gear.
• Load and unload equipment and secure per safe work procedures; inspect in transit if necessary.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets; check fluid levels.
• Secure customer signatures and inform supervisor of delivery issues.
• Maintain records; inform dispatch of delays; manage pickups and returns.
• Provide basic operation guidance to customers when needed and keep truck clean and professional.

Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment.Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets. Check gas, oil and other fluid levels.Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.What You’ll Bring to the TeamQualifications and Requirements:Valid Class 3/ DZ driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is required.Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.Comfortable with manual transmission.Comfortable with city driving.Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
