A leading insurance firm is seeking a Claims Manager to provide guidance and coaching to a remote team, manage claims adjudication, and settle complex insurance claims. Candidates should have a General Insurance Level 2 License and experience leading claims teams. Job description

Here is what a typical day looks like

  • Provide guidance and coaching to your team, identifying succession goals
  • Manage group and individual claims adjudication process, including reviewing and delegating open files
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle large or complex property, auto, casualty, and liability claims
  • Manage, coordinate, and control the Claims Handling Authorities granted by insurers, including supervision of Claims Bordereau’s
  • Determine coverage, establish and maintain claims reserves, and process payments within established authority levels
  • Participate in and support new product development, including developing, interpreting, and training on new policy wordings
  • Manage and ensure performance of the delegated authority
  • Develop and maintain claims systems, procedures, and service standards
  • Responsible for vendor management and adherence to our established Service Level Agreements
  • Liaise as our company representative with all external insurance partners
  • Champion, communicate, and implement corporate initiatives, policies, and procedures
  • Review weekly and monthly KPIs and make recommendations to meet targets, including pricing and loss ratios

The value you bring

  • General Insurance Level 2 License required; CAIB / CIP preferred
  • If you do not have a license, it must be acquired within three months of your start date
  • Progressive diversified career within Claims including large commercial loss
  • Experience leading a team of adjusters; ability to stay connected with a remote team and adapt approach to engage different personality types
  • Intuitive understanding of policy wordings and coverages
  • Proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Office products is an asset

Hours : 37.5 hours / week – Full Time, Permanent

Location : Remote in Canada

Salary range : $95,000 - $105,000 (negotiable)
