Job summary

Alberta Motor Association in Edmonton is seeking a Claims Care Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Claims Care Team and guide claims advisors and adjusters toward high-quality service. You’ll be a hands-on leader who coaches, motivates, and collaborates across the team to deliver results.

You’ll partner with the Supervisor, Claims Care to manage workloads, handle escalations, monitor performance metrics, and ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements while

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field.
• Active pursuit or completion of CIP/FCIP/CRM designation.
• Minimum five years of claims-handling experience.
• Knowledge of insurance legislation, regulatory requirements and compliance practices.
• Awareness of industry trends and technology in insurance.
• Experience coaching or informal leadership.
• Ability to work in a team and build vendor relationships.
• Balance leadership duties with hands-on operational support.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Supervisor, Claims Care and act as a leadership partner and backup.
• Oversee day-to-day activities of the Claims Care Team to meet service goals.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to claims advisors and adjusters.
• Collaborate with the team to manage workloads, escalations and priorities.
• Monitor service levels and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Ensure high-quality claim handling, technical excellence and efficiency.
• Support compliant claims-handling practices with regulations and company requirements.
• Assist with escalations, technical questions, and workflow decisions as needed.
• Identify training needs and support staff development.
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors and other departments.
