Job summary

Aecon Civil is seeking a Foreperson for a landmark heavy civil infrastructure project in Ontario, Kawartha Lakes and Barrie regions. You will oversee daily field operations, lead crews, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with the Construction Manager.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy civil, with earthworks, grading, and roadway construction, plus a valid driver's license and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory position in construction, specifically heavy civil infrastructure.
• Experience with earthworks, grading, blasting and roadway construction is an asset.
• Must have strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors and consultants in compliance with EH&S program and provincial legislation.
• Lead safety meetings, hazard assessments, and ensure safe work plans are developed.
• Track and report project quality control and resource requirements.
• Drive quality, efficiency and productivity of work crews.
• Direct employees on productivity issues and monitor work performance with crews to overcome challenges.
• Follow project plans and budget while ensuring crews meet production goals.
• Translate drawings and work requirements into a prioritized work plan.
• Manage daily field operations and coordinate equipment and labour resources.
