Job summary

Aecon Concessions is seeking a seasoned Construction Director to lead planning and execution of a landmark heavy civil project in Ontario’s cottage country, Kawartha Lakes and Barrie regions. Reporting to the Project Director, you’ll drive pre-construction and execution activities, ensuring safety, schedule and quality.

You’ll lead large multidisciplinary teams, manage direct-hire and subcontractors, coordinate with engineering, and uphold Aecon’s standards of excellence and integrity.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of self-perform construction management experience.
• Ability to handle confidential and professional matters.
• Excellent organizational, communication and customer relationship skills.
• Experience with self-perform trades, estimating, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and staff a construction team of supervisory personnel.
• Liaise with engineering staff to ensure constructability of designs.
• Develop hiring plan and proactively manage labour relations.
• Oversee all site execution, ensuring timely performance of work.
• Accountable for site safety and coordination with the Safety Manager.
• Maintain a positive relationship with the client construction counterpart.
• Ensure training roster and verification of Supervisor qualifications.
• Uphold quality system requirements and training compliance.
• Assist in succession planning and training of key staff.
• Identify and manage other duties as assigned.
