Job summary

Aecon is seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead planning and execution of a major heavy civil project in Ontario. Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee pre-construction and site operations, manage direct hire and subcontractors, and drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

This senior role requires 15+ years of self-perform construction management, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate large teams across field and office.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of self-perform construction management experience.
• Excellent organizational and customer relationship skills.
• Strong knowledge of union relations and labour management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and staff a construction team of supervisory personnel.
• Liaise with engineering staff to ensure constructability of designs.
• Develop hiring plan and manage labour relations proactively.
• Responsible for all site execution and timely performance of work.
• Accountable for site safety and human performance with the Safety Manager.
• Maintain a positive relationship with client construction counterparts.
• Ensure training compliance and supervisor qualifications.
