Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a Christmas Kettle Campaign Coordinator for a short-term contract to oversee multiple kettle locations within a zone, coordinating staffing, logistics and donor engagement.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong organization and communication skills, and ability to travel to kettle sites. Compensation aligns with the stated range and benefits are provided as part of the workplace culture at The Salvation Army.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of related experience or working in customer service.
• Money handling experience is an asset.
• Experience in office administration.
• Experience with general office equipment and strong skills in word processing and Excel.
• Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s Licence, personal vehicle required and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
• Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to staff/volunteer arrival.
• Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion.
• Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to the supervisor.
• Orient and remind staff/volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required.
• Supervise, support and assign staff/volunteers throughout the Campaign.
• Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently.
• Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis).
• Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved).
• Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs.
• Promote, coordinate, and oversee the activities of Christmas Kettle Campaign Worker staff and/or volunteers.
• Oversee the operations of the Christmas Kettle campaign including scheduling of staff and/or volunteers.
• Will participate in recruitment of kettle worker staff and/or volunteers.
• Orientation and performance management of kettle worker staff and/or volunteers.
• Coordinate the schedule for kettle staff and/or volunteers and respond to emergency absences, etc.
• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle sites.
• Coordinate the delivery and pick-up of kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations.
• Host at a kettle as required ensuring necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
• Ensure that kettle locations have adequate supplies of literature etc.
• Record statistical data and prepare weekly time sheets as required.
• Post campaign; organize retrieval of all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations.
• Perform other related duties as required.
