Job summary

The role involves planning activities, meal preparation, safety monitoring, and reporting while working shifts that include weekends and nights. CPR/First Aid is required and a criminal record check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Formal education in a related field is an asset (e.g., Early Childhood Education or Social Work).
• CPR/First Aid is required.
• Class 5 driving license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Learn the case plan for the primary caregiver(s) and the children.
• Provide children with age-appropriate activities and programs.
• Assist with preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks; ensure food handling and storage; follow safety guidelines.
• Monitor behavioral issues and respond to keep children safe.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in safety-related initiatives.
• Adhere to all internal policies and procedures.
• Keep House Leader informed of child welfare and safety issues.
• Complete ad hoc or regular reports (e.g., incident reports, daily logs).
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of child/family information.
• Perform related duties as required.

Job Profile

Qualification/Certifications

• Formal Education Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Early Childhood Education or Social Work Diploma) is considered an asset.
• CPR/First Aid is required.
• Training in behavioral and crisis management is an asset.
• All successful candidates must have a positive report from a criminal record check under the vulnerable sector. Possession of a Class 5 driving license will be an asset.

This position is to work in shifts which include weekend and night shifts.

Working Conditions

• Driving, sitting and standing for extended periods of time, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling and actively engaging with children.
