Job summary

Thomas' Circle of Care Inc. in Regina seeks a Child Care Worker for a temporary 5-month assignment at our Regina home. The incumbent will ensure the home and the children receive proper care and follow the plan to foster holistic development.

Responsibilities include learning the case plan, providing age-appropriate activities, preparing meals, monitoring behavior, attending staff meetings, maintaining confidentiality, and completing reports; shifts include weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• Formal post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
• CPR/First Aid is required.
• Training in behavioral and crisis management is an asset.
• A positive criminal record check for vulnerable sector is required.
• Class 5 driving license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Learn the case plan for the primary caregiver(s) and the children.
• Provide children with age-appropriate activities and programs.
• Assist with preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks; handles food safely.
• Monitor behavioral issues and respond to keep children safe.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in safety initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of child/family information.
• Complete daily logs and incident reports as required.
• Perform related duties as required.

This position is to work in shifts which include weekend and night shifts.

Working Conditions:

• Driving, sitting and standing for extended periods of time, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling and actively engaging with children.
