Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Burlington, ON is hiring an Early Childhood Assistant to support teachers and families in providing a nurturing, home-like environment for children. You will assist RECEs, help with instruction, and contribute to a safe, engaging daily routine.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred.
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• Current First Aid and infant CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist RECEs with classroom instruction.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for children.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities.
• Foster collaboration with staff, families and management.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Keep classroom materials organized and tidy.
• Other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting RECE’s with instruction in the classroom.


• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.


• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.


• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.


• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.


• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.


• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School/Equivalent required, Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred


• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment


• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR


• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements


• Experience in planning and implementing programs.
