Job summary

BrightPath Kids is hiring a Centre Director in Chestermere, AB to lead the centre alongside teachers and families, ensuring a safe, nurturing home-away-from-home for children and compliance with provincial licensing.

Responsibilities include recruiting and developing staff, managing payroll and finances, enforcing policies, communicating with parents, and ensuring training and regulatory compliance. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must understand licensing and accreditation regulations.
• Experience in financial management and budgeting within a childcare setting.
• CPR/First Aid and health requirements relevant to local health authorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operation of the centre, including staff recruitment and development, policy implementation, child safety, and licensing compliance.
• Ensure classroom objectives and expectations are communicated and upheld by all staff.
• Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general communications; handle administrative tasks efficiently.
• Enforce provincial regulations, supervise training, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and health practices.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to support children’s development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As a Centre Director, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Managing the overall operation of the centre including recruitment and development of staff, management of policies and procedures, child safety, environmental health/hygiene, and province licensing.
• Ensuring that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.
• Managing administrative tasks such as processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general communications.
• Understanding and enforcing all province regulations within the building.
• Implementing and ensuring completion of training for all staff members.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• B.Ed. with a focus on Early Childhood OR Early Childhood Educator Level 3 Certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of licensing and accreditation regulations
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial management
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
• Up to date immunization and Health Assessment as per the local Ministry of Health Requirements
• CPR/First Aid Certificate
