Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Chestermere, Alberta, is hiring an Assistant Centre Director to work alongside teachers and families, providing a warm, home-like environment for children.

You will support centre operations, staff recruitment and development, and ensure compliance with provincial licensing and safety requirements, while maintaining open communication with parents and guardians.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education Level 3 certificate
• Knowledge of licensing and accreditation regulations
• Ability to meet province childcare employment requirements
• Immunization and Health Assessment per Ministry of Health
• CPR/First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Assist Centre Director with handling overall centre operations, recruitment and staff development
• Ensure classrooms meet objectives and expectations
• Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable and communications
• Ensure compliance with provincial regulations within the building
• Coordinate staff training and development
• Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What will you be doing?

As an Assistant Centre Director, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care.

• Assisting Centre Director with managing the overall operation of the centre including recruitment and development of staff, management of policies and procedures, child safety, environmental health/hygiene, and province licensing.
• Ensuring that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.
• Managing administrative tasks such as processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general communications.
• Understanding and enforcing all province regulations within the building.
• Implementing and ensuring completion of training for all staff members.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Early Childhood Education, (CWS) - Level 3 certificate
• Demonstrated knowledge of licensing and accreditation regulations
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
• Up to date immunization and Health Assessment as per the local Ministry of Health Requirements
• CPR/First Aid Certificate
