BrightPath Maple Grove Centre in Ontario is seeking an Assistant Director to work alongside teachers and families to create a welcoming home-away-from-home for children in our care.

You will assist the Centre Director with operations, staff recruitment, policy management, safety, and licensing compliance, while supporting classroom teams and families daily.

Qualifications

• RECE registration in good standing with Ontario College of ECE.
• Knowledge of Ontario childcare licensing and regulations.
• Up-to-date immunization and Health Assessment as required.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist Centre Director in operations, staff recruitment/development, policies, child safety, hygiene, and licensing.
• Ensure staff understand classroom objectives and expectations.
• Handle payroll, accounts payable/receivable and general communications.
• Enforce provincial regulations within the building.
• Coordinate training and ensure completion for all staff.
• Maintain effective communication with families about children.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Assistant Director, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting Centre Director with managing the overall operation of the centre including recruitment and development of staff, management of policies and procedures, child safety, environmental health/hygiene, and province licensing.


• Ensuring that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.


• Managing administrative tasks such as processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general communications.


• Understanding and enforcing all province regulations within the building.


• Implementing and ensuring completion of training for all staff members.


• Providing effective communication with families about their child.


• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of ECE


• Demonstrated knowledge of licensing and regulations


• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment


• Up to date immunization and Health Assessment as per the local Ministry of Health Requirements


• CPR/First Aid Certificate
