Job summary

Tolko Industries in Lavington, BC is looking for a Certified Electrician to join our North Okanagan milling operation. You will maintain electrical equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safe, reliable operation of controls and motors across our lumber mill near Vernon.

The ideal candidate holds an Interprovincial ticket, strong PLC/HMI knowledge, CMMS experience (JD Edwards), and solid teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs and HMI systems.
• Experience with CMMS (JD Edwards).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Forest products environment experience is asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide safe, reliable fixes.
• Complete preventative maintenance and installations on motors, motion controls, optimizers, encoders.
• Look for opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintainability.
• Carry out maintenance projects and programs.

We’re looking for a Certified Electrician to join our innovative lumber mill located near Vernon, British Columbia. Our Lavington Division is where Tolko’s story began over 60 years ago. Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:
