Job summary

QXO in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a qualified driver to join our team. The role involves pre-inspecting trucks, loading materials, verifying loads, and maintaining safety and clear communication with dispatchers to ensure timely deliveries.

You will operate a heavy-duty truck with a manual transmission, lift up to 75 pounds, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. A strong team mindset and safety-first approach are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Class A CDL license in good standing
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Pre-inspect truck, load materials, and verify accuracy of load
• Set up job parameters, inspect site to ensure a safe environment to load and unload
• Occasionally may be asked to provide assistance with lifting, pushing, or moving product as needed
• Touch freight – may need to lift, push, or move product weighing 75+ pounds
• Maintain regular communication with dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of the product
• Ensure branch management is aware of potential hazards on site
• Demonstrate a daily commitment to safety and adhere diligently to all safety protocols, while always wearing appropriate PPE
