Overview

Aramark is recruiting a Catering Manager to organize and execute upscale catering services for a prestigious private school in downtown Toronto. The Catering Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of catering solutions and special events at this educational institution. This position will oversee events or catering delivery requests, ensuring they meet client expectations and service standards. Additionally, this role offers an opportunity for a creative catering professional to demonstrate marketing and social media outreach skills within the downtown Toronto community. Job Responsibilities

• Manage FOH operations and staff supporting the catering department.
• Coordinate and communicate scheduled events with relevant departments.
• Assist clients in planning special events and provide creative solutions.
• Meet with clients to discuss event details and customize menus.
• Handle event floor plans, design, purchases, décor, linens, rentals, and staffing.
• Engage in community outreach via marketing and social media to connect with students and faculty.
• Conduct post-event inventory and ensure billing accuracy, reporting to the Operations Manager.
• Accurately document event details and manage computer inputs daily.
• Participate in weekly departmental meetings.
• Attend each event to ensure service execution and client satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all food, occupational, and environmental safety policies.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of upscale catering and event planning experience.
• Diploma or degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage (preferred).
• Attention to detail, creativity, and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, families, and guests.
• Management experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
• Marketing and social media outreach experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of catering software (e.g., Catertrax, Caterease) is beneficial.
• Proficiency in computer use for documentation and tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or early mornings for scheduled events.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and stand for extended periods as needed.
