Catering Event Manager

Coast Restaurant is seeking a full-time Catering Event Manager.

Location: Coast Restaurant @ 1054 Alberni Street, Vancouver, BC

Job Description:

1. Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of a restaurant, bar, cafeteria, or other food or beverage service.
2. Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures.
3. Recruit staff and oversee staff training.
4. Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance.
5. Control inventory, monitor revenues, and modify procedures and prices.
6. Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
7. Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.
8. Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.
9. Proactively solicit event sales.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 1 year experience in a similar position and environment.
2. Must have a passion for the hospitality industry.
3. Proficient in MS Office.
4. Excellent leadership and motivation skills.
5. Strong interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through as necessary.
7. A clear thinker.
8. Capacity to work well under pressure.
9. Ability to hold oneself and others accountable.
10. High school graduate.
11. Ability to communicate in English.

Wage: $30.00 per hour
Minimum: 30 hours per week
Benefits: Extended Health/Dental after 3 months of employment, cell phone & dry cleaning allowance.
