Are you a seasoned chef who thrives under pressure, has a love for bold flavours, and knows how to feed a crowd without sacrificing quality? Butchies and Dish Play are on the hunt for a Catering Chef who can lead large-scale, high-volume food production for both on-site and off-site events.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Leading the execution of large-scale catering operations—from intimate gatherings to 1000+ person events.
  • Developing and scaling recipes that reflect the Butchies brand : bold, comforting, Southern-inspired flavours with finesse.
  • Managing kitchen prep for events and ensuring quality and consistency in high-volume output.
  • Overseeing on-site and off-site event execution : setting up, cooking, plating, and managing flow under real-time service conditions.
  • Working closely with our Executive Chef and Catering Manager to deliver unforgettable food experiences.

What We’re Looking For :

  • Strong fundamentals in cooking—you must know your techniques, have strong knife skills, and understand time, temperature, and balance.
  • Proven experience with high-volume prep and execution—we’re talking hundreds, even thousands of portions. This is not a line cook gig.
  • Event experience is required—you’ve done weddings, corporate events, festivals, or similar, and you know how to handle the unexpected.
  • A cool head under pressure, problem-solving instincts, and a strong work ethic.
  • A deep passion for food—you take pride in your work, whether it’s a backyard BBQ or a black-tie dinner.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to your own vehicle are required—you’ll be traveling between Butchies, Dish Play, and various event locations.
