AgeCare Gibson is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents and to supervise Personal Support Workers. You will collaborate with the Registered Nurse and liaise with physicians and the health care team on the unit.

Responsibilities include updating procedures, notifying a physician in the absence of the RN, and ensuring care needs are met. Employment is casual with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing background.
• Knowledge of relevant Canadian health acts and college standards.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Implement policies and procedures on the unit in collaboration with the RN.
• Liaise with physicians and health care team members regarding resident status.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers and participate in shift reports.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in resident status when the RN is absent.
