Job summary

AgeCare is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario to provide professional nursing care to residents and to supervise Personal Support Workers on the unit. You will collaborate with the Registered Nurse to implement policies, liaise with physicians, and ensure timely communication of resident status changes.

Ideal candidates bring geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing knowledge, and hold a current College of Nurses of Ontario certificate.

Qualifications

• Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing expertise.
• Knowledge of Ontario nursing standards and applicable acts.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to implement care plans.
• Liaise with physicians and health care team; notify physician of changes when RN unavailable.
• Direct Personal Support Workers on the nursing unit.
• Attend shift report and communicate resident status changes.

Provides input into the revision of procedures within the residence and the unit.Liaises with physicians and other members of the health care team including external health care partners.
