Great Canadian Entertainment in Dawson Creek is seeking a guest-focused server to work across dining and bar settings in a casino environment. You will take orders, provide recommendations, process payments, and help ensure a safe, welcoming experience for guests.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of serving experience, POS experience, and Serving It Right certification; eligibility for a Gaming License is required. This role offers flexible hours and competitive wages.

Responsibilities

  • Explains how menu items or beverages are prepared.
  • Takes guest orders and makes recommendations.
  • Serves guests and checks for satisfaction.
  • Cleans tables or counters and restocks where applicable.
  • Delivers food to hotel rooms as directed and collects signatures.
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required.
  • Counts cash float at end of shift when applicable.
  • Covers other servers' sections when required.
  • Liaises with appropriate operational departments.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing, health and safety regulations.

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Food & Beverage, this position is responsible for serving the guests at a counter, in a restaurant, buffet operation, coffee shop, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a banquet, in a theatre, in in-room dining, or other areas. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Companys policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

  • Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared
  • Takes the guest orders; makes recommendations
  • Serves the guests; checks to ensure satisfaction
  • Prepares food and beverages if applicable
  • Resolves guests issues or asks management for assistance
  • Presents bill upon request; takes payment in the absence of a cashier
  • Cleans table s or counters; removes dishes; re-stocks where applicable
  • Delivers food to hotel rooms as directed; obtains signature; removes used trays
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required
  • Counts cash float at end of shift when applicable
  • Covers other servers sections when required
  • Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education And Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year serving experience effective and service oriented communication
  • POS experience
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License via Independent Gambling Control Office
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations
Work Environment Considerations
  • Regular casino, restaurant environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours
