School District 72 is looking for Casual Education Assistants to join our team at Cortes Island School. We aim to bring the district's learning beliefs to life.
Located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, the district extends north to Sayward and south to Oyster River, including the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. Serving over 5,600 students across 18 schools, the district offers diverse, progressive programs responsive to students' educational needs.

Education Assistants work under the direction of School Administration, supported by the Department of Inclusive Education and classroom teachers. They collaborate in inclusive settings to support students in meeting their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Responsibilities include modeling pro-social behaviors, ensuring safe learning environments, and providing academic support for students with various disabilities and challenges.
