Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the District Administrator / Designate, the Education Assistant-Individual(s) participates as a member of a team and assists in the ongoing planning and implementing of adaptations and strategies as outlined in the student Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This role is primarily within the classroom or learning support room, under the direction of the classroom teacher / Learning Support Teacher (LST). Responsibilities may include maintaining vigilance to ensure the safety of students and staff, providing personal assistance and care, assisting with wheelchair transfers, and implementing behaviour safety plans. The specific duties will vary depending on the needs of the individual students assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Site Specific Considerations:
The successful applicants will have training and experience working with children with a wide range of needs, including those with learning disabilities, multiple handicapping conditions, challenging behaviours, and autism. Personal care may be required. Support for community activities (e.g., swimming, bowling) and driving may also be necessary.
