Education Assistant

The Burnaby School District is seeking qualified Education Assistants for on-call assignments.

Responsibilities

Education Assistants are responsible for providing support for students in and out of the classroom, and within the community. Specifically, assistance is provided in the following areas:

1. Behaviour management
2. Curriculum implementation
3. Social skills development
4. Personal care
5. Physical assistance

Required Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must have the following:

• Successful completion of a recognized program in special needs assistance (e.g., Education Assistant Program);
• One (1) year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience;
• Good verbal and written communication skills;
• Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Hourly Rate: $35.11 per hour.
