Job summary

Edmonton Catholic Schools seeks casual Early Childhood Educators to work with Half-Day Kindergarten teachers and the Extensions program. A Diploma in Early Childhood and at least three years as Lead Educator are required, with French or Spanish as an asset.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood required with 3+ years of related experience.
• Early Childhood Supervisor Certification required.
• French and/or Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of English Language Learners and settlement services is desirable.
• Experience with planing inquiry-based programming and FLIGHT framework is expected.

Responsibilities

• Explore early learning play experiences including art, music, and drama.
• Collaborate to create developmentally appropriate play experiences.
• Consult with teacher and MDT to support children with diverse needs.
• Design and adapt programming to address cultural needs.
• Plan experiences based on student interests and FLIGHT framework.
• Maintain child documentation such as learning stories and portfolios.
• Communicate with families about children's development.
• Build relationships with post-secondary institutes for field placements.
• Participate in professional sessions and teacher callbacks.
