Job summary

Edmonton Catholic Schools is seeking casual Educational Assistant positions for day-to-day assignments across various schools in the division. These roles support students in learning and developing social, communication, and behavioral skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, organizing materials, supporting developmental strategies, managing behavior, and providing personal care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with related certificate in early childhood education or special needs; 1 year related experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of intervention techniques and strategies, first aid, CPR, and administering medication.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Outlook, and the internet.
• Ability to communicate with sensitivity, diplomacy, and tact; English communication skills.
• Ability to travel to sites within Edmonton.
• Fluency in French, Spanish, Ukrainian, or Cree language knowledge is an asset.

Edmonton Catholic Schools is accepting applications for casual Educational Assistant positions for day-to-day assignments in various schools/ sites throughout the Division. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours. However, all casual hires are eligible to apply to internal temporary or permanent positions. The job works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist students in learning and developing skills in the areas of socialization, communication, and behavior. The job also provides general support in the classroom. This position is open to applicants from the ECSD Dual Credit Educational Assistant program.

• Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Outlook, and the internet
• Ability to communicate with sensitivity, diplomacy, and tact is essentialAbility to effectively communicate in the English language, both oral and written, with the ability to develop and maintain communication with students, teachers, and specialists
• Ability to travel to sites within Edmonton
• Fluency in French, Spanish, Ukrainian, or knowledge and understanding of the Cree language and culture, is an asset.
