Job summary

BrightPath Kids is seeking an Early Childhood Educator Level 1, 2 or 3 for a casual position at Southwood East, AB. The role offers a pay range of $17 - $19 per hour, with government wage enhancement on top, and explicitly states no evenings or weekends.

You will collaborate with teachers and families to create a home-away-from-home environment, develop programming, and maintain child safety and well-being while supporting growth and learning across the day.

Qualifications

• ECE level 3 certification or equivalent
• Must meet provincial childcare employment requirements
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR
• Immunizations and health assessment as required by local health authorities

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a program aligned with BrightPath curriculum to support child development
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Assess children’s abilities, interests and needs and discuss progress with families and staff
• Build collaborative relationships with colleagues, management and families
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as needed
• Describe responsibilities to ensure high-quality care and safety

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator Level 1, 2 or 3, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath’s curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
