Job summary

Street Culture Project is hiring RCY Caseworkers to support youth involved in the justice system in Regina, balancing structure with compassion and advocacy. Build trusted relationships, mentor youth, and develop individualized plans for 6–7 participants while coordinating health, education, and court appointments.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice, harm reduction approaches, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Secondary completion required; post-secondary preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 1 year frontline youth care experience.
• Assets: Indigenous youth and gang-involved individuals; youth mentorship; community program development; government/non-profit collaboration; substance use, mental health, crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with youth while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Provide role modeling and mentoring rooted in strength-based, trauma-informed approaches.
• Develop, implement, and review individualized Case Management Plans for a caseload of 6–7 youth.
• Support youth in attending health, education, and court appointments; build family and peer relationships; engage in community, cultural, educational, and skill-development activities.
• Advocate for youth and mediate when conflicts arise.
• Track outcomes, maintain up-to-date files, and complete daily case notes and monthly reports.
• Write incident reports and complete administrative duties as required.
• Collaborate with colleagues on individual and group programming.
• Attend regular RCY staff meetings and contribute to SCP initiatives, events, and fundraising efforts.

Title: Case Worker

Location: Regina, SK

Employment: Full Time (35+ hours per week), 4 month term with a possibility of extension

Compensation: $21.50-25.00/hr with benefits, RRSP matching, and professional development

We are seeking RCY Caseworkers who are ready to walk alongside youth in a meaningful way, balancing structure with compassion and advocacy with accountability. This is not just case management—it’s relationship building, mentoring, and supporting youth through some of life’s most challenging transitions.

What You’ll Do

• Build supportive relationships with youth while maintaining professional boundaries
• Provide role modeling and mentoring rooted in strength-based, trauma-informed approaches
• Develop, implement, and review individualized Case Management Plans for a caseload of 6–7 youth
• Support youth in meeting their goals, including:
  • Attending health, education, and court appointments
  • Building positive family and peer relationships
  • Engaging in community, cultural, educational, and skill-development activities
  • Accessing resources such as housing, food security, and mental health supports
• Advocate for youth and mediate when conflicts arise
• Track outcomes, maintain up-to-date files, and complete daily case notes and monthly reports
• Write incident reports and complete administrative duties as required
• Collaborate with colleagues on individual and group programming
• Attend regular RCY staff meetings and contribute to SCP initiatives, events, and fundraising efforts

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• Secondary completion required; post-secondary preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 1 year frontline youth care experience
• Training/experience in one or more of the following is an asset:
  • Working with Indigenous youth and gang-involved individuals
  • Youth mentorship and support work
  • Community program development and networking
  • Government and non-profit collaborationSubstance use, mental health, crisis response
• Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills

Additional Requirements

• Valid Canadian Driver’s License with Driver’s Abstract
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance
• Familiarity with SCP’s core approaches: Harm Reduction, Youth-Centred Care, Nurtured Heart, and Trauma-Informed Practice
• CPR/First Aid (B), Conflict Resolution and Crisis Intervention is an asset (or willingness to obtain).
