Job summary

Westrose Interiors LTD. in Calgary is seeking a skilled carpenter to perform read blueprints, measure, cut, assemble and install windows, doors and interior finishes at the job site.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience, secondary school completion, and the ability to work at heights on site with relocation support and health benefits provided by the employer.

Qualifications

  • Reads blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
  • Provides reading of plans and specifications.
  • Works well in a team and follows safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
  • Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools
  • Assemble plywood panels
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
