Job summary

Grandview Blacktop Ltd. in Canada is seeking a capable construction labourer to support asphalt paving and site prep. You will perform heavy labour outdoors and work on busy projects at concrete and road sites, under supervision.

The role requires attention to safety and the ability to follow directions on a fast-paced site. With 1 year to less than 2 years of experience, you will contribute to measuring, mixing, pouring, and finishing materials, assisting with rigging, traffic control, and site

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of construction-site experience.
• Must be able to perform heavy physical labour outdoors.
• Criminal record check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
• Perform pre-operational inspection.
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades.
• Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications.
• Pave and rake asphalt.
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
• Remove litter and garbage.
• Perform general labouring duties.
• Shovel cement and other materials into cement mixers, spread concrete and asphalt on road surfaces using shovels, rakes and hand tampers.
