Job summary

Blackfish Homes Ltd. is seeking an experienced carpenter to work on-site at various residential renovation and new-build projects. The role requires reading blueprints, laying out work to code, and constructing foundations, walls, and roofs.

The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience, strong measurement skills and the ability to supervise apprentices in a dynamic construction environment. On-site role with physical demands and travel to multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 5+ years of experience.
• On-site construction environment.

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Instruct apprentices
• Supervise other workers
