Job summary

Autism Services in Canada is seeking a skilled carpenter to read blueprints and convert drawings into wood and other material structures. You will measure, cut, shape, and assemble components, install foundations, walls, roofs, and finish details like windows, doors, stairs and mouldings.

The role also involves supervising other workers and performing maintenance, repair and renovation of wooden structures in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Supervise other workers
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
