Job summary

Home Instead is seeking compassionate caregivers in Okotoks and the High River area to provide one-on-one care for seniors. The role emphasizes a can-do attitude, friendly demeanor, and genuine desire to support community seniors.

Responsibilities include personal hygiene assistance, mobility support, medication reminders, meals, errands, and light housekeeping. Candidates should have strong English communication, a valid driver’s license, and prior care experience.

Qualifications

• Experience providing one-on-one care to clients.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care preferred.
• Willingness to learn and follow health and safety standards.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance and basic needs for elderly clients.
• Remind clients to take prescribed medications.
• Assist with mobility and accompany to appointments or activities.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Complete client shopping or accompany them to do so.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report incidents and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with daily living tasks and activities as needed by clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly clients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remindclients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting clients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions
• Great written and verbal communication skills, in English
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive mannerAvailable to work the same shifts each week
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
