Job summary

Qualicare Calgary is seeking compassionate Health Care Aides to deliver one-on-one in-home care for clients in Okotoks and Cochrane. The role features day and evening shifts, flexible scheduling, and the chance to build meaningful relationships while supporting independence and comfort.

As part of the homecare team, you will perform personal care, meals, mobility support, and documentation under a Care Coordinator. Ongoing education and PPE are provided to help you thrive.

Qualifications

• HCA certificate or equivalent required, Alberta registration preferred.
• Minimum 2 years caregiving or health care experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray, reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel within Okotoks and/or Cochrane and work some evenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Prepare nutritious meals and perform light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Accompany clients on outings and appointments.
• Assist with shopping, errands, and medication reminders as permitted.
• Support safe mobility, transfers, and adherence to care plans.
• Complete accurate documentation and charting after each visit.

This position is ongoing and includes day and evening shifts. The successful applicant would ideally be available to work both shifts on varying days. We are looking to fill this position asap. Experience with clients that have complex needs is desired.

What You'll Do

As a valued member of our home care team, you'll work under the guidance of our Care Coordinator to deliver personalized care that promotes dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting clients with personal care, bathing, grooming, and hygiene

What We're Looking For

We're seeking caring professionals who are dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing exceptional client care.

Requirements:

• Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurses and nursing students are encouraged to apply)
• Registered to work as an HCA in Alberta (or in the process)
• Minimum 2 years of caregiving or health care experience
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Negative TB skin test or chest X-ray
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Okotoks and/or Cochrane
• Must be available to work some evening shifts
• Access to a mobile phone and internet
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while following individualized care plans
