Job summary

Home Instead Nanaimo is hiring professional caregivers to provide in-home care with flexible schedules, opportunities to grow your career, and rewarding work improving seniors' lives.

You will work mornings, evenings, nights and weekends, earning $21.00–$22.00 per hour. Duties include personal care, meal preparation, medication assistance, light housekeeping and meaningful companionship.

Applicants must reside in Canada; interviews are prompt and start dates are immediate.

Qualifications

• Clear criminal background and vulnerable sector check.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Valid OFA First Aid Level 1.
• Valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent.
• Compassionate, reliable, and patient demeanor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate care to clients in their home setting.
• Assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Medication management.
• Preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition.
• Assisting with light housekeeping tasks
• Monitoring and reporting changes in clients' health and well-being
• Companionship and engaging in meaningful activities with client.

Position: Caregiver

Location: Nanaimo

Compensation: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Shifts: Mornings, Evenings, Nights & Weekends.

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate care to clients in their home setting.

• Medication management.

Requirements

• Reliable Transportation to work
• Valid completion of OFA First Aid Level 1 course
• Valid competition of FOODSAFE level 1 or equivalent
• Compassionate, reliable, and patient demeanor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Assets

• Previous caregiving experience
• Valid certifications or training in caregiving, personal support work, or related fields.
• Valid BC drivers license
