Job summary

BC Liquor Distribution Branch stores lead a major retail operation in Vernon, delivering customer service and education while meeting sales targets. This role includes budgeting, staff hiring and training, scheduling, and policy implementation to support the Cannabis Stores image.

Successful candidates will manage shift rotations, travel as needed within BC, and complete a criminal record check and Selling it Right certificate. This is a demanding leadership position within a government entity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years leading a team within a customer-facing retail operation.
• Experience with customer service and management of assets.
• Preferred: degree, diploma, or certificate in business or retail management.
• Experience working in government or regulatory environment.
• Experience working in the cannabis industry.
• Formal coursework in cannabis from an accredited post-secondary institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead a major retail operation, providing leadership and direction, and maximizing revenue through sales targets.
• Hire, train and develop staff; schedule assignments and participate in store duties.
• Review and analyze store operations, monitor the budget, control employment costs and analyze reports.
• Contribute to the Cannabis Store image through policy implementation and maintenance.
• Shift work, evenings and weekends; travel overnight within British Columbia.
