Job summary

JOEY Restaurant Group is hiring a Payroll & AP Coordinator to manage full-cycle Canadian payroll for about 900 employees and handle invoice processing, AP reconciliations, and vendor management.

You’ll partner with teams to ensure accurate payroll and payments, uphold controls, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced Finance environment. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in full-cycle Canadian payroll or accounts payable
• Experience with payroll, HRIS, and financial systems
• Strong understanding of payroll or basic accounting principles
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Discretion and integrity handling confidential information
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Proactive, self-directed with initiative

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle, bi-weekly Canadian payroll for large workforce
• Manage payroll and AP reconciliations; investigate variances
• Process statutory remittances and government payments
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices; ensure timely payment
• Prepare payroll, AP, and other financial reports
• Onboard and manage vendor records; respond to inquiries
• Support year-end payroll and audits
• Collaborate with managers to resolve payroll/payment issues
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls
• Participate in ad hoc finance projects
