Job summary

MacEwan University is seeking a Custodian for a 6-month full-time replacement term in the Custodial Department, delivering cleaning and maintenance across the campus in Edmonton. You will ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff, performing detailed cleaning, waste management, and setup of classrooms.

Ideal candidates have Grade 10, WHMIS, and at least 3 years of cleaning experience; a Building Service Worker certificate is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum completion of Grade 10 education.
• WHMIS certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with cleaning in a similar setting.
• Building Service Worker Certificate is an asset.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Detailed cleaning of including windows, light fixtures, entrance matting, and floors.
• Vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets.
• Disinfecting washrooms, showers and locker rooms.
• Dusting all ledges and waxing floors.
• Re-arranging and lifting furniture.
• Collecting waste and recycling from all areas and disposing of it properly.
• Replacing paper products and sanitizers.
• Reporting all significant incidents to Security Services.
• Removing snow at entrances; and
• Setting up classrooms.
