Job summary

West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. is seeking a part-time Custodian to maintain and clean the mall’s common areas, food courts, washrooms, and offices. You will ensure daily cleanliness, report issues, and adhere to safety guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods, strong communication, and a professional demeanor. A flexible schedule across days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance for West Edmonton Mall’s common areas, food courts, washrooms, and offices.
• Ensure all cleanliness standards are consistently met.
• Check for deficiencies and damages and report them to a supervisor.
• Follow WHMIS guidelines at all times.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Job description

The Custodian is responsible for a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation projects within West Edmonton Mall.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performing the daily cleaning and maintenance duties for West Edmonton Mall’s common areas, food courts, washrooms, and offices.
• Ensuring all set standards of cleanliness are adhered to at all times.
• Checking all areas for any deficiencies and damages and reporting them to a supervisor.
• Ensuring WHMIS guidelines are followed at all times.
• Other responsibilities as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
• The ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day.
• Excellent communication, and customer service skills complemented by a strong sense of professionalism and a keen eye for detail.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• This is a part-time position that requires a flexible schedule Monday through Sunday, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
