$60,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Buyer/Planner

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Location: In-person at #103 - 7 Burbidge St, Coquitlam, BC

The Opportunity

As a Buyer/Planner at Moment Energy you will be responsible for day to day buying, managing inventory levels, and coordinating BOM requirements in support of production schedules. Your role will involve working closely with our Supply Chain Manager and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and production to ensure the supply of materials that meet cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

The Role

  • Salary: $60,000- $80,000 CAD per year
  • 3 weeks paid vacation + 1 week paid Christmas and New Year's holiday off

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Execute purchase orders and track deliveries.
  • Purchase BOM items and R&D components
  • Assist in sourcing, evaluating and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Support inventory management and reporting.
  • Contribute to cost-reduction efforts.
  • Monitor market trends and report findings.
  • Assist in analyzing forecasts and demand.
  • Help resolve order fulfillment issues.
  • Provide support in mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (manufacturing, engineering, etc.) and suppliers.
  • Ensure understanding of material specifications and production schedules.

The Candidate

We’re looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in buying and/or planning, preferably in the automotive, electronics or energy storage industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, planning, and purchasing.
  • Analytical skills to assess market trends, supplier performance, and risks.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally with various teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing supply chain challenges.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the cleantech or renewable energy industry is preferred.
